They are currently seeking a skilled and experienced Quantity Surveyor / Cost Manager to join our dynamic team.
Role Overview: As a Quantity Surveyor / Cost Manager, you will play a pivotal role in overseeing and managing the costs associated with construction projects. You will be responsible for accurately estimating project costs, monitoring budgets, conducting cost analysis, and ensuring cost-effective solutions throughout the project lifecycle.
Key Responsibilities:
Prepare detailed cost estimates and budgets for construction projects.
Conduct thorough cost analysis to identify potential cost-saving opportunities.
Monitor project costs and expenditures, ensuring adherence to budgets.
Collaborate closely with project managers, architects, engineers, and subcontractors to optimize cost efficiency.
Review and negotiate contracts, change orders, and subcontractor agreements.
Provide expert advice on cost management strategies and risk mitigation.
Stay updated on industry trends, regulations, and best practices related to quantity surveying and cost management.
Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, or a related field.
Proven experience as a Quantity Surveyor or Cost Manager in the construction industry.
Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
Proficiency in cost estimation software and Microsoft Excel.
Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
Professional certifications such as RICS or equivalent are desirable.
Experience working on Defence or other Government contracts may be advantageous.
Consultancy experience.
NEC / JCT experience
