As a Support Worker in our children's home, you will play a vital role in providing the care and support necessary for the well-being of the children under our care.

Position Overview: We are currently seeking compassionate and dedicated Support Workers to join our team. The Support Worker will be responsible for providing direct care and support to children and young people living in our residential home. This role requires individuals who are committed to promoting the welfare and development of children, providing a safe and supportive environment, and working collaboratively with colleagues and other professionals.

Key Responsibilities:

* Provide day-to-day care and support to children and young people in accordance with their care plans and individual needs.

* Foster positive relationships with children, encouraging their emotional and social development.

* Ensure the safety and well-being of children at all times, including implementing safeguarding procedures when necessary.

* Support children with daily activities, including meal times, educational and recreational activities.

* Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of care provided and any significant incidents or observations.

* Work collaboratively with colleagues, external agencies, and families to provide holistic support to children.

* Participate in team meetings, training sessions, and supervision to enhance professional development and ensure high-quality care provision.

Qualifications and Skills:

* Previous experience working with children and young people in a care setting is desirable.

* NVQ Level 3 in Health and Social Care (Children and Young People) or equivalent qualification is preferred but not essential.

* Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage effectively with children, colleagues, and other stakeholders.

* A compassionate and patient approach, with a genuine interest in the welfare and development of children.

* Ability to work flexibly, including evenings, weekends, and bank holidays, to meet the needs of the service.

* Knowledge of safeguarding procedures and child protection legislation.

* Competent at working with behaviours that challenge.
