Estimator/Project Supervisor is now sought by Messina Talent for our client in Sutton, NE. This is a permanent direct-hire opportunity offering relocation assistance and great benefits.
RESPONSIBILITIES
* Prepare bids for quoting jobs. This includes calling suppliers for pricing and contacting potential subcontractors for quotes. Estimators collect the pricing and quotes, and track who will be used in the bid if won.
* Collect shop drawings from supplies and subcontractors to submit to the engineer for approval.
* Communicate with the suppliers and subcontractors if there are any revisions or changes made by the engineer. This will include logging and tracking all submittals internally and following up on what submittals are necessary and make sure they get done prior to commencement of the project.
* Assist project manager in the ordering of materials for a job and to ensure that materials are delivered to the jobsite in a timely manner.
* Review all subcontracts for accuracy as to what was quotes and with what supplier.
* Track all stored materials for projects and work with office personnel in making sure those are accounted for on pay estimates to be submitted to the engineer.
* Attend pre-construction and progress meetings for projects as necessary, as well as internal meetings with other estimators and project supervisors within the company.
* Coordinate locates for projects prior to commencement, as well as discontinue locates after project complete.
* Gather information from on site supervisors monthly regarding what materials were used and what quantities were used on the project so that pay estimates can be submitted to engineer for payment.
* Work with other office personnel to make sure pay estimates get submitted monthly for all projects worked on.
* Work closely with other estimators and office personnel as well as on-site supervisors to ensure work goes as smoothly and that the supervisors have the materials and locates they need to complete the job.
* Work with other contractors and materials suppliers as well as engineers for various tasks as well.
JOB REQUIREMENTS
* No degree required.
* Underground construction knowledge.
* Experience in Utilities and Manufacturing (2-5 years)
* Underground Utilities Experience
* Project Management (2-5 years)
* Excel, Word, and Spread Sheet experience.
* Codes: OSHA 10, OSHA 30, Basic OSHA Underground Utility
* Basic Construction Knowledge of Underground Utility Construction, Knowledge of Mechanical Joint Fittings, HDPE Pipe and Fittings, Sanitary Sewer Pipe and Fittings, Storm Sewer Pipe, RCP, HDPE, CMP Pipe and Fittings, Basic estimating fundamentals, Basic Takeoff Fundamentals, Basic Plans Reading knowledge.
