JOB TITLE: CONSTRUCTION ESTIMATOR
LOCATION:Anaheim, CA
ABOUT:A leading Commercial General Contractor based in Anaheim, specializing in restaurant and retail construction projects. Looking to continue to expand operations, we are seeking a skilled Construction Estimator to join the team.
POSITION OVERVIEW:As a Construction Estimator, you will play a crucial role in the project planning and execution process. You will be responsible for accurately estimating the costs associated with various construction projects, ensuring that our bids are competitive while maintaining profitability. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in construction estimating, particularly within the restaurant and retail sectors, and possess excellent analytical and communication skills.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
* Analyze project drawings, specifications, and other documents to prepare comprehensive cost estimates.
* Collaborate with project managers, subcontractors, and suppliers to gather necessary information for accurate bidding.
* Utilize estimating software and databases to generate cost breakdowns, material quantities, and labor requirements.
* Conduct thorough cost analysis and value engineering to identify cost-saving opportunities without compromising quality.
* Prepare and present detailed bid proposals to clients, outlining project scope, schedule, and budget.
* Review and negotiate subcontractor and supplier bids to ensure competitiveness and compliance with project requirements.
* Assist in the development of project budgets and schedules, providing ongoing support to project teams throughout the construction process.
REQUIREMENTS:
* Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field preferred.
* Minimum of 5 years of experience in construction estimating, preferably within the restaurant and retail sectors.
* Proficiency in construction estimating software such as Procore, Bluebeam, or similar programs.
* Strong understanding of construction methods, materials, and building codes.
* Excellent analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex project documents and drawings.
* Effective communication and negotiation skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with clients, subcontractors, and team members.
* Detail-oriented with a focus on accuracy and precision in estimating and budgeting.
* Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment, managing multiple projects simultaneously.
